But what about the bad ones?
Leading oneirotechnologists have been unable to fully eliminate nightmares from the sleep experience. According to Doctor Seorin Han, nightmares aren't just a byproduct of human consciousness: they're the entire point.
"Our ancestors' growing ability to cognize suboptimal outcome gave us an evolutionary edge over reactionary hominids who lived from moment to moment," Han says.
"Inversely, a robust conceptualization of the past is what allowed us to learn from our mistakes. However, there are limits to what the conscious mind is willing to conceive. In dreams, we most vividly realize the fears of our waking lives, and go well beyond them, as only sapient creatures can." Han theorizes it was the relevatory power of dreams that gave them their reputation as supernatural signs and omens.
In modern life, not all nightmares are so productive. Are you tired of having the same old nightmares, regardless of their relevancy to your daily routine?
Our patented NIGHTMARE ALGORITHM features an intuitive three-star system so you can rate your nightmares as you have them. We use this data to build our technologies and further personalize your sleep experience, so you only see the nightmares most relevant to you.
